Tony Allen appears to have finally found a new home.
The New Orleans Pelicans are finalizing a one-year contract with the unrestricted free agent with training camp set to open later this month, league sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.
The 35-year-old has spent the previous seven seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies where he developed into one of the most feared perimeter defenders in the entire league.
With All-Stars Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins anchoring New Orleans' frontcourt, the Pelicans have looked to strengthen their guard depth this summer, re-signing Jrue Holiday and signing free agents Ian Clark and Rajon Rondo.
Allen averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.6 steals on 46.1 percent shooting for Memphis this past season.
