Durant hopes Kyrie finds happiness 'wherever that is'

Even though the drama surrounding Kyrie Irving is the least of his concerns, Kevin Durant is rooting for the Cavaliers guard to be "happy," whether that's in Cleveland or elsewhere.

"I really don't care about the Kyrie Irving situation," Durant said Friday at a news conference at NBA Academy India, according to ESPN. "I just want guys in the league to be happy where they're playing and have some fun playing ball.

"So, wherever that is, for Kyrie, I hope he finds that. But LeBron James is a phenomenal player. I got a chance to play on his team in the Olympics in 2012, and learned a lot from him."

Durant is currently touring the country as an ambassador for both the league and sport, hosting a number of clinics and donating multiple courts on behalf of his foundation.

Irving reportedly approached Cavaliers management to formally request a trade recently, as he apparently no longer wants to play next to James, who many predict could bolt Cleveland as a free agent following the 2017-18 season.

More than half the league has reportedly reached out to Cleveland to inquire about Irving, either with an offer or merely to express interest.
