Kyrie dreams of starting his own 'self-sustaining community'

USA Today Sports

Kyrie Irving has big aspirations for his post-NBA life.

The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard was a guest on the "Short Story Long" podcast, during which he revealed he hopes to buy a bunch of farmable land and start his own "self-sustaining community" one day.

"I have - they're never lofty - the idea of just a self-sustaining community that ultimately exists with ... Everyone has equality, but just built around a culture that is being driven by individuals that are selected amongst us as a community that we all want to stay close to," Irving said (starts around the 1:22 mark in the video below).

"So we're just working on a plan where ultimately we can accomplish that on a grander scale of a lot of acres, farmable land, and basically buy that land and then start building my own damn community."
