NBA MVP Russell Westbrook is known for his outlandish fashion choices. But the dynamic point guard's wardrobe took a more serious tone Tuesday at Sports Illustrated's Fashionable 50 gala in Los Angeles.

Underneath a denim jacket outfitted with a variety of paint smatterings and pins, Westbrook donned a T-shirt with the text "Fight Racism."

"Obviously, it stands for a lot of things," Westbrook said to SI. "I love the shirt and the way kind of it rips. Just the whole message in the rips go all together in my opinion."

Westbrook didn't divulge much on his inspiration for the shirt or use the event for a long-winded political statement, but the shirt does enough talking on its own.

It should be noted - and come as no surprise to anyone - that Wesbtrook was crowned SI's Most Fashionable Athlete of 2017 at the event.
