Report: Big Baller Brand files 'MeloBall1' trademark
The Big Baller Brand isn't going anywhere.
LaVar Ball and his family are not only betting on its immediate success, but they are also looking to its future.
The sports apparel company has reportedly filed a trademark for the name "MeloBall1," likely in advance of a shoe release for the youngest Big Baller, 15-year-old LaMelo Ball, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.
The news comes a day after LaMelo's oldest brother, Lonzo Ball, was named Most Valuable Player of the Las Vegas Summer League.
LaMelo - who plans to attend UCLA like his brothers - is currently a junior at Chino Hills High School in California. The point guard is rated as a five-star recruit for the 2019 class, per ESPN.
There was no information revealed about the price, design, or inspiration for a potential shoe, but the trademark alone indicates that the wheels are in motion for the next wave of Big Baller fashion.
