Allen Iverson is on Team Russ.

While in Oklahoma over the weekend for the BIG3's stop at the BOK Center, the Hall of Fame guard was asked about Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook.

"Incredible," Iverson said, according to Erik Horne of The Oklahoman. "He's my favorite player in the league. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the guy. I think the MVP was well deserved. I called it early in the season. It was an epic moment for us fans."

Westbrook was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player in 2016-17 after snatching Oscar Robertson's triple-double crown and becoming the first player in 55 years to average a trip-double over an entire campaign.

"I think it's something that we may not see again for years to come," said Iverson, who earned MVP honors in 2001. "It's something that we thought might never happen. I didn't ever think it would happen on this level, so that tells you what type of player he is and how great he is."

The All-NBA point guard led the league in scoring with 31.6 points per game to go along with 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists, single-handedly carrying the Thunder to the playoffs. It was his takeover season, after co-star Kevin Durant's departure to the Golden State Warriors.

Westbrook is embracing OKC as his home and has received MVP love locally this past week at both his basketball camp and the BIG3 game. Iverson, who's serving as the captain and player-coach of 3's Company, appreciates the 28-year-old's support.

It's not the first time The Answer has heaped praise on the Fashion King, having previously called himself "the biggest Westbrook fan" and drawn comparisons between their effort and heart.
