Report: Muhammad becomes UFA after T-Wolves pull QO

Bob DeChiara / USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves have pulled a $4.2-million qualifying offer from Shabazz Muhammad, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Minnesota decided to keep his contract off the books as they look to pursue other free-agent targets. Muhammad now becomes an unrestricted free agent.

The Timberwolves drafted Muhammad with the 14th pick in 2013. He struggled in his first two seasons, but came into his own over the last two seasons, averaging 10.2 points and three rebounds as a scorer off the bench.

Muhammad profiles as a capable and versatile scorer, but he doesn't quite stretch the floor, dominates the ball, and is an inconsistent defender.
