Calipari refutes rumored interest in Knicks' front office role

John Calipari isn't making the leap back to the NBA any time soon. Just ask the man himself.

After reports began to swirl suggesting the Kentucky coach used an intermediary to express his interest in the New York Knicks' vacancy at president of basketball operations, Calipari refuted those claims Thursday night.

"No one has contacted the Knicks on my behalf. I am the coach at Kentucky and will be for a long time," Calipari tweeted.

Currently in Cairo as head coach of Team USA's U-19 squad, Calipari also seemed more interested in taking in the pyramids than contemplating whether the triangle system is right for the Knicks.

Calipari isn't the first big name linked to the position, left empty after the Knicks and Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson "mutually agreed" to part ways Wednesday. Other figures that have been connected to the job include former Knicks general manager and Hall of Fame player Isiah Thomas, current Raptors president Masai Ujiri, and ex-Cavaliers general manager David Griffin.
