The Boston Celtics may have significant interest in trading for Paul George, but they appear unwilling to overpay for the All-Star forward.
Boston is currently waiting to hear back from Indiana general manager Kevin Pritchard, but views the Pacers' current price for George as too high, a league source told Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald. Indiana recently asked for the both the Brooklyn Nets' and Los Angeles Lakers' 2018 first-rounders (which Boston owns), and a starter for George, according to Murphy.
Reports surfaced earlier this week that the Celtics were working on a plan to land both George and fellow All-Star Gordon Hayward this summer.
The Celtics aren't the only team looking to nab the seven-year veteran, as the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets have reportedly also expressed interest.
The four-time All-Star averaged 23.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals on 46.1 percent shooting in 75 games for the Pacers this past season.
