Bulls won't extend offer to Carter-Williams; will become UFA

The Chicago Bulls won't extend a qualifying offer to Michael Carter-Williams, general manager John Paxson told ESPN 1000 on Tuesday, making the point guard an unrestricted free agent.

Carter-Williams merely added to the glut of point guards in Chicago after the arrival of Kris Dunn in the Jimmy Butler trade. The Bulls need to make a decision on veteran Rajon Rondo as well, given that they appear to be going in a rebuilding direction.

After winning Rookie of the Year almost by default with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013-14, Carter-Williams has regressed. He was limited to 45 games this past season, averaging 6.6 points and 3.5 assists on just 36.6 percent shooting.
