Any rumors about Steve Kerr retiring can officially be put to bed.

Just a day after Warriors GM Bob Myers said he felt confident that Kerr would coach next season, the 51-year-old bench boss went on record Wednesday saying he plans to remain on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

"I'm planning to coach for a long time," Kerr told Zach Lowe on ESPN's "The Lowe Post Podcast".

"I love it, I love the group, I love coaching them every day, and this is what I want to do for a long time," he added. "That's the plan, so I just got to keep pushing forward."

With four All-Stars on the Warriors' roster, Kerr realizes how fortunate he is to lead such a talented group, and isn't ready to give up the opportunity to coach just yet.

"This kind of stuff happens very rarely in the NBA where you get a group of players this talented who are together in their primes. It's so rare so I know exactly how lucky I am," he said.

Kerr was forced to miss much of the Warriors' postseason run due to chronic pain stemming from multiple back surgeries, but returned to the sidelines for Game 2 of The Finals.
