Kevin Durant took the last shot, he took all the hate, and he eventually took home all the glory with his first title and the Finals MVP trophy.

But it took a unique leader in Stephen Curry to make it all possible. Curry made a selfless move last summer to yield the league's brightest spotlight to Durant in order to make the Golden State Warriors a better team.

That fact was not lost on KD after Monday's title-clincher.

"Steph is - I never seen nobody like him," Durant said, via ASAP Sports. "I told him last night. I said, When you play with force, like I never seen a player like you before. And he played with force tonight.

"The stuff you hear about Steph as far as sacrificing and being selfless and caring about his teammates, caring about other people is real. It's not a fake. It's not a facade. He doesn't put on this mask or this suit every single day to come in here and fake in front of you guys.

"He really is like that. And it's amazing to see a superstar who sacrifices, who doesn't care about nothing but the group."

Curry dropped 34 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists in Game 5 as part of a stellar playoff run that somehow went unnoticed thanks to Durant garnering all the accolades. But all of that comes secondary to the bottom line, which sees Curry as the third guard in NBA history with two MVP awards and two titles.

"He obviously wants to play well," Durant said. "He obviously wants to show who he is, because he's competitive, but it's all about the group. So when I asked him, like, 'Yo, you want to work out,' some guys want to keep it to themselves. But he's like, 'No, let's get some work in.'"
