Spurs' Kawhi Leonard: Leaves Game 1 with sprained ankle
Leonard (ankle) won't return to Sunday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Warriors. He finished with 26 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 11-11 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and a steal across 24 minutes.
Analysis:
Leonard missed the final game of the semifinals against the Rockets with a sprain to the same ankle, but was cleared for a return ahead of Sunday's Game 1. However, during the third quarter of Sunday's contest, Leonard appeared to aggravate the injury twice in front of the Spurs' bench and was eventually taken to the locker room. The injury continues to be listed as a sprained left ankle and it remains to be seen what his status will be for Game 2 against the Warriors on Tuesday.
