It turns out Steph Curry has had his eye on Kevin Durant for quite some time.

The two-time MVP admitted to following Durant's career closely when the two were freshman in college, revealing that he often compared his own numbers to the 6-foot-9 forward's during the 2006-07 season.

"We were in the same freshman class in college. So I was always chasing KD's numbers my freshman year," Curry told reporters Saturday, per Chris Barnewall of CBS Sports. "Anytime I had a good game he was always (right there) our points per game were really close. He kinda took off during the stretch of that freshman year, but I knew he was pretty much a one-and-done type situation."

Durant took the college basketball world by storm during his freshman campaign, averaging 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds on 47.3 percent shooting for the Texas Longhorns. While Curry would eventually evolve into one of the most feared offensive players in the country, his first-year numbers weren't nearly as impressive, averaging 21.5 points on 46.3 percent shooting.

The pair were neck and neck in scoring during their first year as NBA teammates, with Curry narrowly edging out Durant in points per game (25.3 to 25.1).
