NBA Awards show to include 6 new fan-voted accolades

Fans are going to get some say in a bevy of hip new awards for their favorite NBA players.

The league is set to host its inaugural NBA Awards show this summer, and in addition to the standard awards determined by select media members - including MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, and Most Improved Player - there will be six new categories decided by fan voting.

Starting today, hoop heads will have the opportunity to cast their ballots online at or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by hash-tagging the award name plus the player's full name.

The show will air live June 26 on TNT at 9 p.m. ET, and will be hosted by rapper Drake at Basketball City in New York.

So for the next two months, get your fingers working to vote for your favorite moments of the 2016-17 regular season.
