NBA fines Pacers' George, 76ers' Henderson $25K each
Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George was fined $25,000 by the NBA for publicly criticizing officials following his team's 120-111 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, the league announced Wednesday.
In addition, 76ers guard Gerald Henderson received a $25,000 fine for throwing an elbow at George's head, resulting in a flagrant-2 foul and subsequent ejection.
George called out the referees after being ejected due to a second technical foul - one which he felt was undeserved.
"I really don't have no respect and nothing is there for the officiating," George told Nate Taylor of IndyStar.com. "Shitty officiating job."
After taking a mild elbow shot to his back, Henderson retaliated by swinging his arm on a drive to the basket and nailing George in the face.
The two had gotten tangled up earlier in the period.
It's the fifth time George has received a slap on the wrist for comments made about officiating.
