Doc Rivers squashes Orlando rumors: 'I have no future' with Magic
Doc Rivers isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
The Clippers head coach and president put an end to the recent rumors suggesting that he'd entertain a return to Orlando, saying that he has every intention of staying in Los Angeles.
"I have a past with the Orlando Magic, but I have no future with them. My future is here," Rivers told ESPN's Jovan Buha .
It was reported earlier on Saturday that there's been "persistent chatter" that Rivers and the Magic would explore a reunion with Orlando destined for a fifth straight lottery finish.
Rivers began his coaching career with the Magic, earning Coach of the Year honors during the 1999-2000 season. Rivers led the team to a 171-168 record over four-plus seasons before getting fired in 2003 following a 1-10 start.
