Kevin Durant's homecoming in D.C. ended before it even really began.
The All-Star forward left Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards after Warriors teammate Zaza Pachulia - who appeared to be thrown to the ground by Wizards big man Marcin Gortat - fell into Durant's left leg less than a minute into the first quarter.
Durant hobbled up and down the court on the next couple of possessions before heading to the locker room at 10:27 of the opening period. He suffered a hyperextended knee on the play and was set to undergo an MRI at a local hospital.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told reporters following Golden State's loss that the team would know more Wednesday.
The former MVP is averaging 25.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.1 steals on 54-38-88 shooting in his first season with the Warriors.
