Mavericks' Pierre Jackson: Inks 10-day contract with Mavericks
Jackson signed a 10-day contract with the Mavericks on Sunday, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.
Analysis:
After waiving Jackson on Jan. 7, the Mavericks always planned to bring Jackson back. The team didn't want to guarantee Jackson's contract for the rest of the season -- which would have been the case had he remained on the roster prior to Jan. 10 -- but they won't be locked into that sort of commitment in signing the point guard to a 10-day deal. He's been outstanding for much of the season with the D-League's Texas Legends, and averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 assists in 7.0 minutes per game over his four appearances with the Mavericks. He'll likely function as a deep reserve in the backcourt at the NBA level.
