Okafor's father allegedly threatens to 'slap the s---' out of 76ers blogger

USA Today Sports

After totaling just 10 minutes of action in his previous five appearances (including four DNP-CDs), Jahlil Okafor was able to emerge from obscurity and find himself in the starting lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday against the Washington Wizards.

This change disappointed one team blogger named Shamus Clancy, who poked fun at the fact that those who had purchased a ticket to see the game would have perhaps preferred to see the ever-popular Joel Embiid play instead.

Okafor's father was made aware of Clancy's comment on Twitter, striking back at the blogger hours later for insulting his son.

The tweet has since been deleted, with Okafor's dad saying the threat didn't come from him.

The 21-year-old center had his strongest offensive outing of the 2016-17 season, scoring 26 points and grabbing nine rebounds in a 109-93 loss at the Verizon Center.
