The Minnesota Timberwolves are waiving point guard John Lucas III, league sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 5-foot-11 guard played in five games for Minnesota after spending all of last season in the D-League, averaging just 0.4 points, 0.2 assists, and 0.4 steals on 25 percent shooting.
The 34-year-old has spent time with six professional franchises during his NBA career, averaging 4.7 points and 1.5 assists over 242 games.
Lucas' salary would've been fully guaranteed had he been waived past the Jan. 10 deadline.
Minnesota's roster now stands at 14 players.
