Report: Nets want multiple 1st-rounders for Brook Lopez
Brook Lopez may be available in a trade, but he certainly won't come cheap.
With the deadline just a month-and-a-half away, the Brooklyn Nets are asking for two first-round picks in exchange for their starting center, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
The 28-year-old center has been one of the lone bright spots for Brooklyn this season, averaging 19.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.7 blocks in 32 games. Lopez has also developed a respectable stroke from deep after making just three career 3-pointers prior to this season, shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc.
At 8-27, the Nets are in the midst of another disastrous season, and have no way of collecting young talent, as they won't have their own first-round pick until 2019.
First-year head coach Kenny Atkinson said before the season that the Nets were "absolutely not" trading Lopez, but that was before Brooklyn stumbled to the league's worst record.
