Wizards' Mahinmi suffers setback, out another 6 weeks

Washington Wizards center Ian Mahinmi will undergo PRP treatments on both knees and is expected to miss another six weeks of action, the team announced Tuesday.
The 30-year-old Frenchman has so far only appeared in one regular-season game in a Wizards uniform after signing a four-year, $64 million deal with Washington over the summer. Mahinmi underwent left knee surgery in October, but the team said he has since aggravated patellar tendinitis in his right knee.
Mahinmi was meant to be a key part of the Wizards' frontcourt rotation to help shore up their interior defense. Instead, the team has been forced to use Jason Smith and Andrew Nicholson in that role, to minimal effectiveness.
