Report: Rockets want more medical info on Motiejunas before playing him
Houston, we have an undisclosed problem.
After a lengthy standoff with Donatas Motiejunas, the Houston Rockets reportedly reached a deal with the restricted free agent Friday.
Head coach Mike D'Antoni was expecting Motiejunas to be with the team at Toyota Center for Saturday night's matchup with the Dallas Mavericks, but DMo was nowhere to be found ahead of tipoff.
"They're having trouble with some issues," D'Antoni told reporters, according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston. "I thought he would be here tonight. He's not."
Though the coach refused to elaborate on those issues, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical that Houston isn't ready to activate the power forward because it's still poring over the details of his physical exam.
Motiejunas said he went to the arena, but was dismissed.
"I was there, they told me to go home," the 26-year-old said, according to ESPN's Calvin Watkins, whose sources indicate the Rockets are seeking more medical information on Motiejunas.
And so, the strangest saga of the campaign continues.
