Celtics' Isaiah Thomas: Sitting out practice
Thomas (groin) sat out practice Tuesday, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.
Analysis:
Thomas pulled his groin during Monday's loss to the Rockets, and while the issue isn't considered overly serious, it could still cost him a game or two in the short term. The All-Star's status for Wednesday's game against the Magic likely won't be clarified until the team can evaluate him at shootaround, but if he's ultimately held out, both Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart would stand to benefit. Smart would be the favorite of the two to enter the starting lineup in Thomas' stead, but since he's already averaging 30.5 minutes per game on the season, he probably wouldn't be in line for a substantial increase in court time.
