Barnes cries media bias: 'Don't believe everything you read'
Sacramento Kings forward Matt Barnes is cooperating with police after reportedly choking two women and punching a man during a club brawl in New York City on Sunday.
His representatives stated hours after the story broke that Barnes is innocent and that he is cooperating with police. Barnes himself also took to Instagram to argue his side of the story against a supposed negative bias against him from the media.
"There's always two sides to a story," Barnes wrote. "The side the media consistently tries to paint of me ... and what actually happened! Don't believe everything you read."
Barnes is the league's most fined player since the 2012-13 season and was suspended twice by the league last season - once for fighting ex-Knicks coach Derek Fisher and another for trying to enter the Bucks locker room.
