Pacers' Monta Ellis: Joins block party in Wednesday's win
Ellis finished with seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six rebounds, five blocks, four assists and one steal across 35 minutes in Wednesday's 103-93 win over the Cavaliers.
Analysis:
The five blocks were an extreme outlier for the 6-foot-3 guard, but they helped salvage what was an otherwise mediocre night in the scoring column. Ellis had tallied 13 or more points in the preceding three games, and that was apparently enough for coach Nate McMillan to commit to keeping the veteran with the starting lineup going forward. The Pacers had banished Ellis to the bench in last Friday's game against the 76ers in favor of C.J. Miles, but Ellis played 36 minutes in that contest and returned to a starting role in the very next game.
