Wolves' Rubio returns to practice, may play Saturday vs. Clippers
MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio returned to practice on Friday after missing the last five games with a sprained right elbow.
Coach Tom Thibodeau says Rubio looked sharp in practice. If he feels good when he wakes up on Saturday, he could play in the game that night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Timberwolves have missed Rubio's experience and defensive presence during his absence. Rookie Kris Dunn has started and second-year pro Tyus Jones has been the primary backup. Both have played well at times, but for now lack Rubio's composure in critical moments.
The Timberwolves are off to a disappointing 2-5 start and have home games against the Clippers and Lakers this weekend.
Rubio will officially be listed as questionable for the Clippers game.
