Jennings makes point to 'always look for' Porzingis
Here's yet another way in which Brandon Jennings is endearing himself to the New York Knicks faithful.
In addition to the flashy passes and the team-first attitude, Jennings is making a point to deliver the ball to Knicks wunderkind Kristaps Porzingis as much as possible.
“He’s a big factor on the offensive end. So we definitely have to get him the ball,” Jennings told ESPN's Ian Begley. “He’s (7-foot-3) that can score and can shoot it from long distance. So if you want an assist as a point guard, that’s one of the guys you gotta get the ball to.
“I try to find him and get easy buckets for him as much possible,” Jennings said. “He’s a guy on this team that needs the ball and that has to score for us to be successful, so he’s a guy that I always look for.”
Jennings comes off the bench, so he's yet to play extended minutes with a starter in Porzingis, but nevertheless Jennings throws 12.5 percent of his passes to the towering Latvian which is good for his second-most favored target.
Porzingis, however, hasn't converted at a reliable clip off Jennings' service. He's shooting just 31.8 percent after receiving a pass from Jennings, but that figure should bump up over time.
