Mavericks' Quincy Acy: Battling sprained ankle, no timetable
Acy suffered a sprained right ankle in Saturday's preseason loss to the Bucks and won't play Tuesday against the Thunder, Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News reports. "We don't think it's serious," coach Rick Carlisle said of Acy's situation. "It's a precautionary thing. There's no timetable, but we don't believe it's anything beyond a sprained ankle."
Analysis:
Acy is sporting a walking boot on his right foot, but as Carlisle suggested, the team doesn't believe he'll be sidelined for long. The forward, who signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with the Mavericks this offseason, isn't expected to be much more than a low-minute rotation option in the frontcourt, so his absence shouldn't prove too costly.
