After signing a one-day contract with the New York Knicks, six-time All-Star and former Rookie of the Year Amar'e Stoudemire called it quits after 14 seasons in the NBA.

The 33-year-old forward spent most of his playing career with the Phoenix Suns and Knicks prior to spending the last two seasons with the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat, developing a number of close relationships with his teammates during that time.

His retirement, which he revealed in a statement on Tuesday afternoon, had several players out on social media sending their well wishes to the man called STAT.
