The Miami Heat announced the signing of forward James Johnson on Sunday.
Terms were not released by the club, but Johnson agreed to a one-year, $4-million contract, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Johnson spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Raptors, averaging five points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.6 blocks in 2015-16.
Miami has worked quickly to revamp its bench after losing several key pieces in free agency, adding Johnson, Wayne Ellington, and Derrick Williams over the past couple of days.
While not a good shooter, Johnson is a capable one-on-one defender and could be used as a stopper for Miami when Justise Winslow is on the bench.
