Clippers bring back Crawford on 3-year, $42M deal

The NBA's reigning Sixth Man of the Year is staying put.

Jamal Crawford and the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a new three-year deal worth $42 million. The third year of the deal is reportedly only partially guaranteed, according to TNT's David Aldridge, citing sources.

Crawford, a three-time winner of the Sixth Man award, averaged 14.2 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in nearly 27 minutes per game off the Clippers' bench during the 2015-16 season.

The 36-year-old struggled with his efficiency, however, shooting 40 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3-point range, posting his lowest effective field goal percentage (46.6) in four years. The 16-year veteran also posted his lowest player efficiency rating (14.0) since his rookie season.

None of that stopped the Clippers from upping their offer from one year and $12 million, to three and 42, according to the LA Times' Brad Turner, citing sources.
