Durant stresses free agency choice will only be a basketball decision
Kevin Durant was in Austin, Texas, for the release of his new Nike KD9 shoe on Monday, and was inevitably questioned about his upcoming free agency. He again stressed the decision will be about basketball and be made by himself and his inner circle.
"I have people I trust," Durant said, according to The Oklahoman's Anthony Slater. "I have all the trust in the world with them that we'll sit down and figure this thing out, figure out what's best for me. It's a little bit more complicated now, but it's still a few weeks away. It's one of those situations where you work so hard to put yourself in a situation to kind of control your own destiny."

Earlier this month, Durant said that he would need to be "a little selfish" as he ventured into the free agent marketplace. While many expect him to remain with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the sweepstakes promise to monopolize NBA headlines as long as he remains unsigned.
Durant did reiterate that his priority is basketball, not peripherals. He told reporters at Thunder exit interviews that he is not interested in recruiting visits.
"I'm worried about basketball," he said. "That's what it is for me. It's a basketball decision. I'm looking forward to the future."
