Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has pulled himself out of consideration for the U.S. Olympic team.

"After speaking with my family, I have decided to not participate in this year's Olympics," Westbrook said in a statement Friday. "This was not an easy decision, as representing my country at the World Championships in 2010 and the Olympics in 2012 were career highlights for me. I look forward to future opportunities as a member of USA Basketball."

Westbrook averaged 8.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists for the national team during the 2012 Olympics in London. The 27-year-old averaged 23.5 points, 10.4 assists, and 7.8 rebounds for the Thunder in 2015-16.

With Westbrook out, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and Mike Conley remain the only point guards left for US National team.
