Mark Cuban: Westbrook 'not a superstar'
Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been known to get verbally carried away on occasion, and on Monday he may have poked a bull when talking to reporters ahead of Game 5 of his team's series with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
"He's an All-Star but not a superstar," Cuban told reporters.
The Thunder lead the series 3-1, and the Mavericks are without their second-best player (Chandler Parsons) and backup center (Salah Mejri). Cuban just took aim at a player in Russell Westbrook who has recorded a double-double in every game in the series so far, and posted 18 triple-doubles this season.
Yes, Mr. Cuban, Westbrook is an All-Star. The MVP of the last two NBA All-Star Games. That generally is grounds for the term "superstar" to be used.
