NBA Game Summary - Minnesota at New York

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach LaVine made four free throws in the final 10.7 seconds of overtime to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves over the New York Knicks, 95-92, on Thursday night.

The Knicks took a 92-90 lead on Langston Galloway's 3-pointer with 1:42 left in overtime. Andrew Wiggins went 1-of-2 from the line at the other end.

Following an empty possession for each team, Gorgui Dieng blocked Alexey Shved's jumper. LaVine was then fouled by Galloway and made two free throws to give the Timberwolves a 93-92 edge with 10.7 seconds remaining.

Shved missed a layup and LaVine added two more free throws to make it 95-92. Andrea Bargnani missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Minnesota (15-53) ended a six-game losing streak and snapped a tie with the Knicks (14-54) for the NBA's worst record.

"We look at it as a game and we want to be better than that team, so don't matter if it's first or last place, we're going to play the same way," LaVine said.

LaVine ended with 20 points and seven rebounds for the Timberwolves, who also snapped a seven-game skid on the road. Kevin Martin and Wiggins had 22 and 20 points, respectively, with Wiggins also pulling down seven rebounds.

Dieng contributed 19 points, 11 boards, six blocks and two steals for Minnesota, which went 25-of-30 from the foul line.

Galloway finished with 21 points and seven rebounds for the Knicks, who were coming off a 104-100 overtime triumph over the San Antonio Spurs Tuesday. Shved tallied 20 points and six assists.

"We didn't make shots toward the end," Galloway said.

The Timberwolves led by as many as 10 in the first half before taking a 54-46 edge into the locker room.

New York outscored Minnesota by a 23-15 margin in the third quarter to make it a 69-69 game.

Wiggins made a layup to give the Timberwolves an 85-83 lead with 1:01 left in regulation. Following an empty possession for each team, Shved made two free throws to tie things up.

Martin's jumper was off the mark at the buzzer.
