NBA Game Summary - Dallas at LA Lakers

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Monta Ellis netted 31 points and the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 100-93 on Sunday night.

Al-Farouq Aminu posted 13 points, six steals, five rebounds and three blocks for the Mavericks, who had dropped four of their last five games coming in.

"Today was one of those days. My shots felt pretty good, I was able to get to the basket," Ellis said.

Carlos Boozer supplied 17 points and eight boards off the bench for Los Angeles, which has lost five consecutive contests.

Boozer's reverse layup staked the Lakers to a 90-84 advantage midway through the fourth quarter, but the Mavs closed the game on a 16-3 run.

"Same old story, they turned it up a notch and we turned it over," Lakers coach Byron Scott said.

Aminu scored the first six points of the surge to tie the game, with a layup preceding four consecutive foul shots, which knotted the contest at 90-90. A Rajon Rondo jumper a possession later gave Dallas the lead with 4:13 left.

Ellis knocked down a 3-pointer and a jumper a bit later to make it 100-91 with 1:08 left and put the game out of reach.

Earlier, the Mavericks held a 25-24 edge following a quarter of play and the game was knotted at 44-44 at the break.

Ellis made a trio of triples in the final 1:02 of the third, with his final one at the buzzer getting the Mavs within 77-75 going into the fourth.
