Jennifer Jo Cobb could be the first NASCAR driver to be penalized for breaking a new rule that prohibits drivers to walk on the track after they have been involved in a wreck.

During Friday's NASCAR Camping World Truck series race, Cobb was involved in a crash on Lap 14. It was unclear if Tyler Reddick, who was running behind Cobb, made contact with her No. 10 truck, but Cobb was convinced that he did.

After the wreck, Cobb got out of her car and walked onto the track to yell at Reddick, violating the rule.

"We take safety very serious and discussed it with her. ... It's a serious infraction," said NASCAR Camping World Truck Series director Elton Sawyer, via Bob Pockrass of ESPN.com. "She understands what she did, and there will be consequences."

The rule was created after NASCAR driver Tony Stewart hit and killed 20-year-old Kevin Ward Jr. during a sprint car race last summer at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in New York. Ward Jr. walked on the track after his car was wrecked, in what appeared to be an attempt to communicate with Stewart, when he was struck.

No other driver in any of NASCAR's three national series has violated the rule. If Cobb will receive a penalty from NASCAR, it is likely to be announced Tuesday or Wednesday.
