Ryan Newman: Crash and DNF at Richmond
Newman crashed and finished 37th in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway Saturday night.
Analysis:
It was simply a tough night at the race track for the Richard Childress Racing veteran. Newman would race deep in traffic most of the night, and as a result he'd end up in someone else's trouble. On lap 367 Jamie McMurray would hit the wall hard and Newman would be unable to avoid the No. 1 Chevrolet. He rear-ended the Chip Ganassi Racing veteran and took critical damage to his No. 31 Chevrolet. The damage would retire Newman for the night, and he'd be saddled with his second DNF of the season.
