Daytona International Speedway announced today that R&B singer Aloe Blacc will sing the national anthem before this year’s running of the Daytona 500.
If you’re not familiar with Blacc, he’s the singer whose song is featured in the recent Beats by Dre commercials featuring San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Brooklyn Nets power forward Kevin Garnett and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. Have a listen below:
The Daytona 500’s pre-race festivities also includes a concert from country singer Luke Bryan.
Blacc’s major-label debut album “Lift Your Spirit” is set to debut next month. His other popular song was doing the vocals on “Wake Me Up”, a song by Swedish DJ Avicii, which hit the top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list.
