Blaney finished third in the Bank of America 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:The Penske Racing star had a big points day at Charlotte Motor Speedway and kept his slim championship hopes alive. Blaney started among the Top 5 and battled there the full 400-miles. He would lead 4 laps during the stage 2 caution and that would be the extent of Blaney's time in the lead. In the closing laps the veteran driver would hold off Josh Berry to claim a strong third-place finish at the Charlotte oval and close his deficit to leader Kyle Larson to 80 points in the Chase standings.
