Dada 5000 hospitalized overnight due to severe dehydration, renal failure
The family of Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris released a statement on Saturday after he had to be stretchered out following his fight with Kimbo Slice at Bellator 149.
After two grueling rounds that saw both men become visibly exhausted, Dada collapsed in the third round, resulting in a TKO loss for the Miami-based street fighter. He was taken to a hospital in Houston and kept overnight.
According to the family statement, Dada experienced severe dehydration, fatigue, and renal failure, but is now "recovering nicely."

This was only the third professional MMA fight for the 38-year-old Dada, and he had never cut weight in any of his previous bouts. For Bellator 149, he cut 40 pounds to make the 265-pound limit.
