Yoel Romero notified of possible anti-doping violation
UFC middleweight title contender Yoel Romero has been notified by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency of a potential violation.
According to a statement released by the USADA, Romero's potential violation came from an out-of-competition sample.
"USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Romero," the statement read. "Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward."
Romero, 38, is coming off a split-decision victory over Ronaldo Souza at UFC 194 in December. That win improved Romero to 11-1 in his MMA career. He currently trails only Chris Weidman and champion Luke Rockhold in UFC's middleweight rankings.
