Fight Night Flashback punches the DeLorean to 88 mph to showcase the past bouts of fighters on upcoming UFC cards. This week, we look back at Kelvin Gastelum and Neil Magny, welterweights scheduled to battle at UFC Fight Night 78 on Nov. 21 in Mexico.

Kelvin Gastelum

It was the year 2012.

Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner broke the sound barrier by terrifyingly doing a "space dive" from 24 miles above the earth, Olympic fever infected the city of London, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, and a wet behind the ears Kelvin Gastelum racked up the fifth win of his burgeoning MMA career.

Gastelum would go on to win the 17th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" after that victory over Mike Ashford, and followed that up with a 5-1 record inside the UFC's Octagon.

Neil Magny

Like Gastelum, Magny was on the precipice of his UFC debut in 2012. Again, like Gastelum, Magny broke into the UFC through "The Ultimate Fighter," losing in the semifinals in the 16th season of the well-worn reality TV staple.

Magny's final bout before TUF was a one-sided unanimous decision victory over Daniel "Sleep With One Eye Open" Sandmann (not a real nickname) at Hoosier Fight Club 10 in Indiana.

Since making his official Octagon debut in 2013, Magny has racked up an impressive 9-3 record, including an eight-fight winning streak that put him on the fringes of the welterweight division's top 10.
