'Stitch' open to UFC return if he gets an apology
When Jacob "Stitch" Duran was let go by the UFC following remarks he made about the promotion's exclusive sponsorship deal with Reebok, both the apparel giant and the UFC took massive heat on social media.
The support for Duran was overwhelming, something the UFC should have expected when they unceremoniously dumped a staple of both their backstage and television product for almost a decade-and-a-half.
Unsurprisingly (at least based on anecdotal evidence), Duran is a forgiving soul, and would be open to mending bridges with the UFC and its president, Dana White.
"Yeah, absolutely," Duran told MMAFighting.com's Dave Meltzer when asked if he'd be open to a UFC return. "I'm the kind of guy, I'm not going to have hard feelings. I think it was a knee-jerk response. I don't think the UFC realized they picked on the wrong guy. I bring more to the table than just wrapping hands and working on cuts. The fans, the fighters, the trainers, even people within the organization, and commissioners, have called me. They should understand I bring a lot more. If they called me tomorrow, I'd be more than willing to sit down."
In fact, two simple words would make this whole nightmare go away.
"If I was a doctor, my prescription would be two words, 'I'm sorry,'"
