Iconic cutman Jacob "Stitch" Duran has been fired by the UFC after making disparaging remarks about the Reebok deal.

Duran broke the news himself on Twitter, claiming the UFC let him go specifically for giving his opinion on the sponsorship deal.

The UFC has not commented on the firing.

Duran's objections to his new uniform vest were voiced on MMAjunkie Radio following UFC 189.

"It's pretty generic," Duran recently said of the Reebok sponsorship. "The vests were generic. Twitter was going crazy. People were talking about it that it wasn't me. Going way back to the vest - this goes way back to when I was starting with TapouT. (TapouT co-founder Charles Mark' Lewis Jr.) was literally the one who created the vest profile for me. I've carried that on to One More Round and to Bad Boy and all that. Not to be showing colors, these are my flags. To look like a cutman. I felt real naked with just the vest that I had."
