Carlos Condit wants to strap gold around his waist.

In a spectacular return to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 67 on Saturday night, "The Natural Born Killer" violently put the welterweight division on notice, absolutely demolishing fellow former title challenger Thiago Alves with a series of vicious, nose-crushing elbows.

Obrigado #UFCGoiania-------------- Unfortunately it wasn't my night. But that's how it is at the highest level of competition. A small setback is a great setup for a bigger comeback! I'll learn from my mistakes and get a lot better. I won't stop until I have that belt around my waist! Now back to the grind. Just wanna first thank God for blessing with this life. And a massive THANK YOU to all my fans for the support. And @ufc for this opportunity. I will be back!!!

"I want whoever has the title in a couple of months," Condit told MMAjunkie.com following the bout.

Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald are set to square off with the 170-pound strap on the line at UFC 189 in July, and Condit, who already owns a victory over MacDonald, is hoping his mug-destroying performance against Alves vaults him to the front of the line.

"Whether it’s Rory or Robbie, I want that guy," Condit said.

Condit briefly ruled the welterweight division back in 2012, when he defeated Nick Diaz to capture an interim title that was created while long-reigning champion Georges St-Pierre was sidelined with a knee injury. St-Pierre returned a few months later to reclaim his title with a lopsided unanimous decision victory.
