Gilbert Burns snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
Likely down two rounds on the judge's scorecards to UFC newcomer Alex Oliveira, Burns, sporting a marked-up eye (the result of sheer passivity and Oliveira combinations), sprung to life in the final frame, taking "Cowboy" down almost immediately before putting his world-class BJJ to good use.
After holding Oliveira in an extended omoplata, Burns transitioned to full mount, and from there quickly snatched a fight-ending arm bar at 4:14 of the final round.
Burns’ submission skills are like Dan Henderson’s right hand. Can end a fight even after he was trailing the whole way.
