Joanna Jedrzejczyk knows her name is a tongue-twisting mouthful that'll no doubt haunt UFC commentator Mike Goldberg for years to come, and is hoping to simplify her moniker the next time she leaves the Octagon.
"Soon, they're gonna call me Joanna Champion," Jedrzejczyk told MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi.
Jedrzejczyk earned a shot at women's strawweight champion Carla Esparza at UFC 185 with a split decision victory over Claudia Gadelha at UFC on FOX 13 back in December.
"Before the fight with Gadelha, I told her that I am No. 1 and I did it in the fight," Jedrzejczyk said. "I showed her that I am the best. Now, I'm going to do the same thing with Carla."
It appears Jedrzejczyk game plan for the fight is beautiful in its simplicity: hit Esparza very hard.
"I have lots of power in my hands," she said. "You're gonna see. And she's gonna feel it."
